I run a reading program in the summer. The kids don't like to write much but they love to draw. These journals are perfect for them to write about the books they've read and draw a picture about it too. Great find for our program.

I use these student composition books for my Kindergarten student writers. They last a whole semester. Young children can be pretty tough on notebooks and these last beautifully and become a keepsake for the families. There's room for a picture on each page, along with student writing. The covers are sturdy enough for the students to decorate them with collage materials before beginning to write in them. I've used them for many years and will continue to buy them.

I purchased these on behalf of my sons montassori teacher at her request. These are GREAT for young beginning writers. They have a large area for drawing and nice spacing for writing. My sons teacher uses them for all of her class and each child has 2. One for English and one for Arabic. She assigns them homework in each book and writes the directions in the top. This is an alternative use. It would also be great for traditional Journal writing where the child writes and then draws a relational picture. I would say they are great for Kindergarten (who know how to write sentences) up to about the 2nd or maybe 3rd grade. The price is great too!

The drawing space on the top half of each page is a wonderful feature. It greatly encourages my 5 year-old daughter to write. Since we got these journals, she writes a few times a week and I didn't even have to tell her to! She writes about anything she thinks interesting and special and she draws pictures to illustrate. I have tried other journals with pretty covers or pages but she would lose interest in them after writing just a few pages. The drawing space is the trick! This is definitely a 5-star product!

This paper is way better than that cheap imitation newsprint that's available these days. I'm using this with a little girl who has trouble reading, and I can tell as she writes that she does better with this paper than the other.

She also likes to draw, so this book/tablet fits the bill perfectly!

We homeschool 4 kids and love these journals for our nature studies. The kids draw a picture of what they saw on our walk and then write a few sentences about it in the lines below. They are also great for writing and illustrating their own story. Will definately purchase again.

I purchased these journals for my second grade students to use during Work on Writing. I am impressed with their strength. The stitched binding is very durable and has held up longer than any other student journal I've tried. These journals provide plenty of writing and illustrating space for students in second grade. I'd love to have this journal for math and science writing too! These journals are a HIT with us!
