This pen has great balance and weight. It is very durable, writes very smoothly, and is great for everyday use.. The knurled grip is really great especially in working environments that are wet or where there are substances that would make the pen slip out of your grasp. It is well worth the price you spend for this pen. The only problem is that it does not have a companion Mechanical pencil in 0.5, 0.7, or 0.9 mm point sizes. The F-402 Mechanical pencil, 0.05mm, is a good alternative mechanical pencil to go with this terrific pen.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    I've been a fan of the F/M-402's for years. I buy them by the dozen to hand out to clients. The F-701 is a nice evolution although I don't understand the black plastic colar. Would a 25 cent part really push the price point of this pen?Why is such a great [$] pen so hard to find?
